About

About Grace Harvest International is a ministry with a passion to reach the most unreached places in India. Presently there are 35 mission workers operating in Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar and Nepal

There are many who haven't had an opportunity to hear gospel atleast once in their life time. they neverexperienced the love of Christ and never come across a church. Most people who live in the unreached areas are inncent and are ingorant of their rights as citizens of India. This in turn gave way to proverty, malnutrition and illliteracy among them. The above facts give us a great burden in our hearts to reach out to them with the word of God. Native missionaries play a vital role in this.

Our Nation

There are 28 states in India, with the second largest population with over 1.18 billion, out of which 80% live in the villages, Four of the world's major religions Hinduism, Budhism, Jainism and Sikhism originated here, while Zoroastrianism, Juudaism, Christianity and Islam arrived in the first millenium CE and shaped the region's diverse culture. Economic reforms have transfromed it into the second fastest growing large economy; however, it stillsuffers from high levels of proverty, illiteracy and malnutrition.

Mission Fields

Headquarters: Nilgiri Hills

Nilgiris district was originally tribal land and was occupied by the Todas around what is now the Ooty area, and by the Kotas around what is now the Kotagiri(Kothar Keri) area. The Badagas appeared here much later from the Mysore Plateau, the unconfirmed date being 1550.

The district has an area of 2,452.50 km2. The district is basically a hilly region, situated at an elevation of 2000 to 2,600 meters above MSL. Almost the entire district lies in the Western ghats.

The principal town of the area is Ootacamund, or Udhagamandalam, which is the district capital. The town also has several buildings which look very "British", particularly the Churches. The other main towns in the Nilgiris are Coonoor, Kotagiri,Sholurmattam,Gudalur and Aruvankadu.

The altitude of the Nilgiris results in a much cooler and wetter climate than the surrounding plains. During summer the temperature remains to the maximum of 25°C and reaches a minimum of 10°C. During winter the temperature reaches a maximum of 20°C and a minimum of 0°C.

As per the 2001 Census, Hindus formed the majority of the population (78.60%), followed by Christians (11.45%), Muslims (9.55%) and others (0.4%).

Our HQ is situated in Sholurmattam, from where the Gospel is taken in and around the villages and towns under the prevailing circumstances and conditions as described above.

Bihar has the population of 97 million people. It is one of the thickly populated states in North India. Close to 85% of the population lives in villages. Almost 58% of Biharis are below the age of 25, which is the highest proportion in India. About 2% of Biharis are Christians most of them being tribe.
